Along with Michael Cacoyannis and Nikos Kondourous, Tzavellas is one of Greece's big three on the international film scene. However, WE HAVE ONLY ONE LIFE doesn't add much to his reputation. It's a familiar tale of a bank clerk who steals a fortune in bank funds and shows his girl the good life. The cash soon runs out, and the bank clerk finds himself in prison.
