Lewis stars in this almost worthless science-fiction comedy set in 1994. He marries--in name only--a fellow weathernaut, Stevens, and together they man a space station on the moon adjacent to one occupied by a Russian pair, Shawn and Ekberg. Lewis and Stevens (who married him, under orders, only seconds before their space vessel blasted off) are to replace a pair of male moon-dwellers, Weaver and Morris, who have--appropriately enough--become lunatics. The contention of their superiors is that the lunacy resulted from the frustration of being in close proximity to the buxom Ekberg, thus the requirement of a married pair of replacements. There are virtually no laughs in this comedy, save for a few generated by Morley as the man in charge of the weather service. A clip from James Whale's FRANKENSTEIN (1931) is included, and is better than the rest of the picture. The title tune, penned by Lalo Schifrin and Hal Winn, is sung by Gary Lewis (Jerry's kid) and The Playboys. leave a comment
