A powerful social drama from 1950 that sent Sidney Poitier's stock soaring, making him an actor to be reckoned with. He stars as a doctor in a county hospital that serves a slum area. One night, racist Richard Widmark and his friend Harry Bellaver are brought in with gunshot wounds. Bellaver dies, and a very angry Widmark blames Poitier. With Linda Darnell and Stephen McNally.
