Morgan is a multi-millionaire who is trying to get the Senate to pass a bill that would send relief monies to Europe's starving children, but his goodwill image is shattered when he has a murder pegged on him. A platonic female companion, Gwynne, is found dead in her apartment, and since
Morgan had just left he is naturally accused. It turns out that blackmailer Dailey is the guilty one, a vile nightclub host who packs a memorable wallop, knocking Gwynne to the ground in one scene. As expected, Morgan is cleared by the finale, and the hungry kids get a bellyful. Includes the
easily forgotten song "Fishing for Suckers" (Earl Brent).
