Kinetic is the word. Whatever the films of Walter Hill lack in characterization is made up for with stunning visual panache. This exciting — and violent — adaptation of Sol Yurick's 1965 novel is no exception. Set in a crime-ridden New York City, the film follows a Coney Island street gang who, framed for the murder of a rival gang leader, must get back to Brooklyn in one piece.
