The second film in the Buford Pusser saga was supposed to have starred Pusser himself in the lead role, but the Tennessee sheriff was mysteriously killed in a car crash just before the film was shot. This called for a replacement, and since WALKING TALL star Joe Don Baker was unavailable (or uninterested), the studio hired big blond Bo Svenson in his stead.
