Walking My Baby Back Home

This disappointing musical stars Donald O'Connor as Jigger Millard, a well-to-do ex-GI who uses his inheritance to form a band made up of pals from the service. After this venture fails, Jigger takes a job in a minstrel show run by the uncle of Chris Hall (Janet Leigh). Soon that show goes into bankruptcy as well, so Jigger comes up with an idea only scriptwriters could make work: giving Dixieland music symphonic treatment (leading to such "classic" numbers as "Liebestraum Jumps"). In a flash, he's on top of the music world with the girl of his dreams at his side. In concept and execution, the movie suffers from lackluster production numbers and bland direction. O'...
