The Third Walker

Confused direction mars this interesting idea. Babies get mixed up at birth; one woman, who's given birth to twins, takes home one of her children and a stranger's, while another woman gets the second twin. Twenty-eight years later the twins meet at their father's funeral, become friends, and plan their lives together, leaving the non-twin an outsider. Motivations are sometimes slim, though the characterizations, particularly by William Shatner and Colleen Dewhurst, are quite effective. Listen for the voice of noted media theorist Marshall McLuhan as a judge. The film was the first directorial effort by his daughter, who was an identical twin herself.
