More racy moonshine mayhem, this time from director John Frankenheimer. Gregory Peck stars as a backwoods Tennessee sheriff who falls in love with teenager Tuesday Weld. Her father, Ralph Meeker, is a moonshiner, and Peck becomes involved in the illicit operations. The classic score by Johnny Cash perfectly suits the story's hard-luck mood.
