Writer-director Henry LeRoy Finch's ripely overwrought exercise in Southern Gothic psychodrama, which happens to unfold in a picturesquely decaying house in Maine, pits four seriously damaged brothers against each other as their terminally ill mother sleeps restlessly in an upstairs bedroom.
