Marshall stars as a young girl who sets out on a strange adventure in search of her brother, Payne, who was listed as missing in action in WW II. He has told her that if he were ever missing, he could be found on a certain remote island. Accompanied by Payne's girl friend Haver, Marshall boards eccentric old man Bevans' boat--which is on dry land 300 miles from the sea--and asks him to take her to her "dream" island.
