Wait Till The Sun Shines, Nellie

This sentimental small-town drama stars Wayne as a barber in love with the rural, slow-paced life he leads. His wife, Peters, hates the small town and longs to move to the big city. The difference in their temperaments causes a rift in their marriage, and Peters soon takes a lover and leaves Wayne. Soon after, both Peters and her lover, Marlowe, are killed in a railway accident, leaving Wayne a widower with two children. As the years progress Wayne is disappointed to learn that his son has become a Chicago gangster heavily involved in a bloody gang struggle.
