In a remarkable stroke of life imitating Hollywood, the title of this smart political satire from director Barry Levinson and screenwriters Hilary Henkin and David Mamet went straight into the official glossary of political jargon when, in the midst of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, President Clinton announced the Operation Desert Fox bombing of Iraq. In the fictional world of Levinson's film, the president (whose face is never seen) is accused of manhandling a young visitor to the White House. To divert the public's attention away from an unsavory scandal, a veteran spinmeister (Robert DeNiro), an uptight White House aide (Anne Heche) and a Hollywood film producer (Dustin Hoffman) fake a war in Albania.
