An 18th-century Spanish seaman cursed the descendants of his killer, a Cornish squire who had him buried alive along with his pet, a huge bird. Crawford, the current squire, scoffs at the legend even when the mutilated carcass of a sheep is discovered in what appears to be the nest of a giant vulture. Crawford's brother-in-law, Hutton, discovers that Tamiroff, a descendant of the seaman, is responsible. In attempting to fuse himself with his ancestor through atomic transmutation--but forgetting about the buried bird--Tamiroff has accidentally melded himself with the creature, creating a big bird with the face of a man. Crawford and his brother, Sterne, both fall victim to the vulture. When Hutton's wife, Clare, is carried off by the bird, she manages to fell it with a pistol shot. Ridiculous casting makes this one a laugh riot. Originally filmed in color but released in the US only in black and white. leave a comment
