Voyage To The Prehistoric Planet

1965, Movie, NR, 80 mins

More interesting than the actual movie is the manner in which wheeler-dealer Roger Corman managed to create this picture. Taking footage from his recent Russian possession PLANETA BURG (AKA: STORM PLANET) combined with extra footage shot during the filming of QUEEN OF BLOOD, VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET was born. VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN was created out of the same material as this feature. The resulting picture was a very unoriginal tale about astronauts going to Venus, where they encounter incredible perils and are in danger of losing their lives until finally rescued. The special effects, originally from the Russian footage, look decent.
