Volcano

Set on a small Italian island, this tale begins with Magnani's return to her home village after being kicked out of Naples for prostitution. She encounters Staiola, the brother she has never seen, and Brooks, the sister she last saw as a baby, now a beautiful young woman. She also meets with indignation from the rest of the villagers, who go so far as to refuse Magnani entrance into the church. In a touching scene of defiance and faith, she prays on the ground in front of the crowd of judgmental women.
