An attempt to create a dark thriller set in the oppressive era of Nazidom, this picture was doomed from the start when given an incredibly small budget and an absurd 12-day shooting schedule. A young Czech pianist gets himself into a lot of trouble with the Nazis by playing a song that has
been outlawed. The song was good, in fact, the best part of this movie, but not worth getting killed over. A weak script is accompanied by horrible photography and the absence of any form of acting. However, the film did earn an Oscar nomination for its sound.
