Virtue

Lombard is a hooker who promises to leave town in exchange for a suspended jail term. Having no intention of honoring her pledge, she disentrains uptown and she taxis back to the center of the city, intending to bilk driver O'Brien of his fare. O'Brien spouts jokes and philosophy about women. Lombard takes a liking to him and romance blooms. She gives up the street life and marries O'Brien. On their wedding night the police come to arrest Lombard but O'Brien sticks up for her. Lombard later goes to a hotel intending to collect $200 loaned earlier to a girl friend.
