The marriage between an elderly vintner, Hicks, and the young Luce, ignites severe disapproval from his strait-laced sons, who pop their noses into the picture and try to destroy the relationship. Their appearance enlightens Luce as to the true age of her husband; she thinks he is 45, but
he's really 62. She walks off in a pique over the deception, but his granddaughter Gunn plays peacemaker. A bit too stagey, but an otherwise pleasant farce.
