When growing numbers of incoming oil workers become more than the local police force of a backwoods California town can manage, Kristofferson is called in to try to maintain order. A Vietnam veteran, he brings in some of his buddies, and soon gets the town under control. Their new-found
power goes to their heads and they virtually take over the small town. So Kristofferson's brother, Vincent, arranges his own group to put the law officers out of business. Performances are totally stereotyped, and the script undeveloped, depending upon sheer action for impact.
