They're feisty policewomen! They're pouty-lipped bimbos! They're out to bust up crime-with their busts! Detective Jan Cooper (Lana Clarkson) is estranged from her runaway adolescent sister, Polly (Carolyn Keenan), and channels her frustration into a personal interest in the murders of street kids. With the help of tech-expert Mindy Turner (Kimberly Roberts) and Officer Edith Block (Liat Goodson), Jan is on the trail of a sexual predator who's bumping off homeless teens. After Polly's best pal turns up dead, Jan's crew sets up a sting operation at the porn parlor run by sleazy Wolfgang (G. Gordon Baer). Are he and his oily assistant, Quentin (Richard Gabai), connected to a snuff flick director? Although the snuff angle proves a dead end — the murder footage is faked — the real killer has chosen Polly as his next victim. This softcore silliness doesn't waste much time on its mystery scenario, though it does pay lip service to alcoholism and other social problems in between simulated-sex. The most distasteful of these erotic couplings finds Jan and a male cop in a restroom. On a camp note, A. Michael Baldwin's screenplay provides the fetching policewomen with a brassiere camera that enables them to photograph perverts in action, setting up a classic one-liner: "Let's check the nipple focus!" This offhand remark could hardly be more indicative of the film's overall focus. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
