A decent western that places more emphasis on character development than the usual oater, this film stars Lancaster and Walker as foster brothers. Walker, a real louse, has always depended on Lancaster to get him out of sticky situations, but he goes too far when he sees to it that Lancaster is falsely blamed for fathering an illegitimate baby, an accusation that causes the mother's brothers to pursue Lancaster with the intent of making him pay for his cowardly deed.
