Overly sentimental and contrived soap opera which has Hayes married to the increasingly erratic Kruger who is suffering from inherited insanity. Unhappy in her marriage (Hayes doesn't realize that her husband is suffering from a family disease), she takes a lover, Montgomery, who is soon shipped off to Egypt with the British army.
