The Valiant

Slow-moving WW II naval suspense thriller starring Mills as the tough captain of a British battleship stationed in Alexandria Harbor in 1941. When two Italian frogmen are captured while attempting to mine the vessel, Mills tries to force them to reveal if they had indeed planted any mines, and, if so, when they are set to explode. The Italians refuse to talk, and Mills lets them sit (one is wounded) with the crew awaiting the explosions. The tension begins to get to the British sailors, who question their commander's wisdom and ethics. Eventually the Italians reveal that there is a mine, but they refuse to tell the location or time of the explosion. Mills evacuates...
