MADE IN USA is a film about several characters who have been affected by environmental pollution. Christopher Penn and Adrian Pasdar play the sons of miners who have been the victims of lung disease and alcoholism. Both characters are angry, lawless, and perverse. The story takes the two young men throughout the US to various sites of industrial pollution. Along the way they hook up with Lori Singer, who has been poisoned by dioxins. Later, they pick up a hitchhiker, a runaway Navajo girl who attended a school polluted by radon gas. Writer-director Ken Friedman is obviously concerned about the environment.
