Uptown Saturday Night: Review

A wildly entertaining romp from Sidney Poitier, who starred and directed. Poitier plays a bored factory worker who has his wallet stolen in a nightclub holdup. When he learns that the lottery ticket he was carrying is now worth $50,000, he and pal Bill Cosby plunge head-first into the criminal underworld to try to retrieve it. Richard Pryor appears as an incompetent private eye and Flip Wilson is hilarious as a preacher, but Harry Belafonte steals the whole thing with a side-splitting parody of Brando's godfather.
