Uptown Saturday Night

A fine comedy starring and directed by Sidney Poitier, who plays a bored factory worker. He, along with his taxi-driving friend, Cosby, decides to live it up one night, and they venture into a seedy, illegal, underground gambling den for some fun. While they are at the club, gangsters hold up the guests, making off with jewelry, cash, and wallets. When Poitier and Cosby learn that the lottery ticket in Poitier's stolen wallet happens to be worth $50,000, the desperate friends plunge headfirst into the criminal underworld to retrieve it.
