Unknown World

This interesting picture lacks the finesse a better director might have given it. The story concerns a group of citizens, led by scientist Kilian, who try to drill to the center of the Earth to find the ideal fallout shelter. Their vehicle--a cyclotram--forces its way to the core, but is pushed back to the surface by an erupting volcano. All this activity was filmed in New Mexico's Carlsbad Caverns.
