The life of Franz Schubert is trivialized in this English-language version of an Austrian film. Yaray is the great composer, impoverished, unknown, and unable to finish the symphony he has been working on. A friend lands him a performance for a princess, Sterler, but while the composer is passionately pouring his heart into the performance, aristocratic Eggerth laughs out loud at some private joke.
