Under Fire

Four American soldiers--Morgan, Locke, LaFayette, and Levin--are court-martialed after being accused of deserting and killing a fellow soldier. Reason, the defense attorney, proves that four Germans disguised as Americans did the actual killing, clearing the names of his clients. This was the directorial debut for veteran 20th Century Fox editor Clark, and his pacing (intercutting action scenes with courtroom questioning) results from his past experience. Producer Skouras proves that there's sometimes merit in nepotism in this, his second production for his dad, studio chief Spyros Skouras.
