A weak Tibbett vehicle which casts him as a singer tired of fame and publicity who runs away in search of relaxation and ends up on a ranch in Mexico. His manager, Ratoff, isn't too fond of the idea and sends Barrie to fetch him. He puts up with the pretty young socialite's pestering for a while and then finally marries her. A less-than-inspired showing from Preminger in his Hollywood directorial debut. Songs include: "Amigo," "My Little Mule Wagon," "Under Your Spell" (Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz), and operatic arias from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and Gounod's "Faust." leave a comment
