Ronald Colman is a member of the French Foreign Legion. Herbert Mundin, who was his valet in England, follows him into the service when Colman is accused of having committed a crime. Colman is actually covering up for the real culprit, his kid brother. Colman meets Claudette Colbert, a camp follower who adores men in uniform and will stop at nothing to prove it. Victor McLaglen, Colman's commanding officer, is jealous of the way Colbert tosses herself at his charge, so he deliberately makes Colman's hard life even harder for him.
