In the midst of WW I Parlo is a German doctor who gains some notoriety for her espionage activities. She infiltrates the British side to find the man who killed her lover. Once ingratiated with the enemy, Parlo meets and falls in love with Loder, only to discover he's the very man she has
been looking for. Parlo steals some plans for an air raid, and Loder is killed in the subsequent attack. This heavy-handed remake of a French film was itself remade some 30 years later under the title FRAULEIN DOKTOR. This was one of many minor films von Stroheim (the man you love to hate)
appeared in after his directing career fell apart.
