A programmer about two rival tunnel-digging crews, one led by McLaglen, the other by Bickford. Infighting occurs in McLaglen's crew when he and his partner Lowe both fall for journalist Rice. They patch things up, however, when McLaglen saves Lowe's life. Because of an injury to
McLaglen, Lowe takes control of the crew, but the leader proves his worth by defeating Bickford and guiding his crew past his rival's. Expertly photographed by Hal Mohr, who the same year shot CAPTAIN BLOOD and won an Academy Award for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.
