Uncle Tom's Cabin

The classic tale of slavery and plantations in the South is brought to the screen by veteran Hungarian director Radvanyi, who chose to film in Yogoslavia. It doesn't take a geography major to notice that Yugoslavia doesn't pass for Kentucky and that Serbians don't look like black slaves. This tale of life among the lowly, while keenly acted, suffers from endless historical inaccuracies and a tendency to wander too far from the original material.
