A weak courtroom drama about murder, marriage, and family honor which casts Twelvetrees as the rebellious daughter of Warwick and sister of Young. She's in love with a scoundrel who wants her money and asks Dad for her hand. When her father refuses, the lovers run off together, but Young
follows and kills the caddish suitor. A trial follows, with Twelvetrees only contributing to her brother's probable guilty verdict. At the last moment she turns on an act which keeps Young from being sent to the chair.
