Tyler Perry is striking while the iron's hot. The actor is adding to his successful House of Payne track record with a spin-off based on the characters of his popular play and hit movie Meet the Browns.David Mann, who starred as Leroy Brown in Perry's hit film and appeared in several episodes of House of Payne, will star in the series that picks up after Brown inherits a rundown house from his deceased dad. TBS has ordered 10 episodes of Meet the Browns, and Perry is once again keeping busy serving as the executive producer, director and occasional writer. "Tyler Perry is an extraordinary talent who has turned House of Payne into a record-breaking hit," said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. Horton Hears a Who! is still hearing cash registers, topping the box office for a second straight weekend with $25.1 million ($86.5 mil to date).
