Silly but entertaining feature has Morgan playing a Balkan prince visiting the U.S. In New York City, Morgan sneaks away from his entourage so he can see how "real" Americans live. He meets taxi driver Carson who schools him in American customs and manners until the police locate him. Morgan is then scheduled to speak to his people via radio, but, before the broadcast begins, he and Carson engage in a debate over the pros and cons of democracy. The argument is broadcast back to the Balkans, and Morgan's countrymen find his views so distasteful, they depose the prince. Morgan now finds he's a part of the working class, so he finds a job as a salesman for a Milwaukee brewery. Though it's all fairly predictable, Morgan and Carson work hard to infuse the film with some good-spirited laughs. The two would work with virtually the same production team two years later in making TWO GUYS FROM TEXAS. leave a comment
