Twice Dead

1989, Movie, R, 85 mins

With rinky-dink production values, an old-fashioned plot, and a little April foolery thrown in, TWICE DEAD follows the exploits of a family that moves into a decaying (but potentially valuable) property left them by a mysterious relative. Before they are even past their new door, they encounter a gang of teenage thugs who have been using the place as a hangout. After prolonged sequences in which battle positions are established between the gang leader (Christopher Burgard) and the film's teen hero (Tom Breznahan), the story's supernatural forces finally unleash themselves. Are the bizarre happenings being caused by the terrorizing gang, or is the house really possessed by the spirit of the Hollywood actor who used to own it? By the time viewers find out the answer (or do they?), they won't care. TWICE DEAD is more than twice dull, and badly done even by teen stalk-and-slash film standards. leave a comment
