Turn Off The Moon

Ruggles owns a furniture store and pal Blue serves as night watchman. Gateson is the secretary that Ruggles wants to marry, but he can't make a move unless his astrologer (Tombes) gives him the go-ahead. The film culminates in a big extravaganza celebrating the store's twenty-fifth anniversary. Downs and Whitney are a younger set of lovers equally dependent on Tombes' mumbo jumbo. The tunes are nothing special, but lively direction helps this film along. Some good entertaiment comes from the specialty acts and Vincent does a nice little parody of Charles Laughton in MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY.
