When his ex-girl friend Arnall marries London lawyer Walsh, Carey plots revenge. He fools her into thinking he's killed her husband's former mistress Day. Arnall offers Carey a large sum of money to keep quiet and get rid of the body. However, Carey and Day are seen together by Swanwick, a rejected suitor of Day.
