March is a sailor in port and Bow a soda fountain attendant who flirts with the seamen who pass her way. She meets March and her eyelash-batting days are over as the two fall in love. The romance has the usual pitfalls, but ultimately they end up together in a sticky-sweet happy ending. March was woefully miscast in this lighthearted comedy, and, although he gave a good performance, he deserved far better material. Bow, on the other hand, did what she could in a role written specifically for her talents. Thanks to numerous scandals and the advent of sound, her heyday was clearly gone. She was far from her best in this picture. The direction didn't help--displaying an uneven style with no sense of comedy. The jokes are flatly predictable and development is slow. Bow's husband Bell makes an appearance as one of the gobs she flirts with. leave a comment
