When clerk Wisdom begins working at a department store, he causes nothing but trouble for boss Desmonde. Soon the bumbling newcomer stumbles onto a plot by some employees who are in cahoots with gangsters. He stops the robbers from carrying out their plans and ends up the hero of the day. This is an amiable comedy, and Wisdom shows some real clowning ability in the first of his film farces.
