Shirley MacLaine's film debut, and a rare box-office loser from Alfred Hitchcock. It may well have been ahead of its time: It's an odd mixture of screwy romantic antics, murder mystery and morbid black comedy. Deep in the picturesque Vermont woods, Jerry Mathers (that's right, the Beaver) stumbles upon the dead body of MacLaine's ex-husband.
