This dubbed story was told much better with the later and classic Julie Andrews musical, THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This one tells about free spirit Leuwerik, who is sent to take care of the Baron and his seven musically inclined children. She is shocked at how rigid their discipline is, so she induces them to play games and enjoy life for what it is. Answer: Before the Broadway musical and beloved movie The Sound of Music (1965), the story of the von Trapp family was explored in two nonmusical German films in the 1950s, Die Trapp-Familie (The Trapp Family 1956) and Die Trapp-Familie in Amerika (The Trapp Family in America, 1958).
