Trapeze

This first German talkie by E.A. Dupont also brought German screen star Sten to the attention of the American public. The story centers on a circus with a girl acrobat and two lion feeders. One of the feeders and Sten work out a dangerous trapeze act and then marry. When the husband fluffs a trick and breaks a leg, the other feeder steps in, and Sten changes allegiances. This angers the husband, who doesn't pull the lever necessary to make the trick work, sending the pair to a certain death. In a gripping sequence, the pair barely save themselves.
