Transylvania 6-5000

With a good cast and a fairly good (if familiar) premise, TRANSYLVANIA 6-5000 might have been a real winner if it had been executed with at least a modicum of intelligence. Tabloid newspaper editor (Norman Fell) needs a strong story for his sleazy publication and thinks that a "Dracula Lives" piece might increase circulation, so he sends his reluctant son, Gil (Ed Begley, Jr.), and another reporter, Jack Harrison (Jeff Goldblum), off to Transylvania. What they find doesn't measure up to their expectations: the town's mayor, Lepescu (Jeffrey Jones), manages the local inn and has plans to turn the area into a theme park.
