Excellent character development distinguishes this tale about a diverse group of people on an ocean liner and how their lives become intertwined. Lowe is a gambler, on the run from some bad guys, who is also looking after the interests of Moran. Halliday is a straight banker who gets involved with dancer Nissen, but goes back to his wife, Loy, at the end.
