Uninspired film with poor attempts at getting laughs. Pity would be more appropriate. It's a feeble try at Abbott and Costello humor with Gleason carrying the sorry burden. He and Durant are barbers who see business decline because their customers are being drafted into WW II. They try to
enlist, to no avail, so they form a home guard unit. A group of killers on the run use the guard as a hiding place. There are couple of mishaps along the way, and everyone goes home--thankfully.
