Wayne, in an early role, is searching the West for a girl and trying at the same time to help Beery find a gold mine that is rightfully his. Turns out bad guy Frazer has his hands on both and it is up to Wayne to foil his plans of evil. With some help from his guns and his fists, Wayne
handily accomplishes both. The film is a remake of THE WOLF HUNTERS (1926), which was remade again in 1949. Writer Parsons produced the later version, but mercifully had no hand in the writing. This was the first of the Wayne-starring series westerns made by Monogram in which studio-employed hacks
failed to write the screenplay, a mistake in this case.
